JMBA’s mission is to enrich the legal education and experience of law students through immersion into the UF Law community and the Gator Nation. JMBA organizes popular law school events throughout the year, including the Barristers Ball, Thirsty Thursdays, Law School Woodser, Alumni Events, Tailgates, and the UF Law Football Block. JMBA balances its social opportunities with networking, scholastic support, and community service. Additionally, JMBA hosts professionalism week, which prepares students for interviews and interactions in the professional sphere.
Why You Should Join:
VALUE: Membership is a one-time fee of $90 which covers your entire law school experience. It pays for itself quickly! JMBA hosts at least 3 Thirsty Thursdays a semester ($5 for non-members) totaling $30 in savings each year. Additionally, JMBA members receive discounts and are eligible for early ticket sales for the law school’s largest events – Barristers, Halloween Party, and Woodser, totaling $30 in savings each year. Members also receive free coffee and donuts on the first Monday of every month from Dunkin’ Donuts. These savings total more than $60 each year.
Why You Should Be a Section Representative:
Becoming a Section Representative offers each law student a support system throughout their time at UF Law, and excellent mentorship opportunities with older students. As a Section Representative, you will participate in General Board meetings, surrounded by some of the most accomplished and talented law students at UF. Section Representatives will also participate in planning professional development events, networking events, and social events throughout the semester.
Interested candidates should fill out the Section Representative Application (Due Sunday, August 26 at 7:00 PM), attend the Applicant Mixer on Friday, August 24, and be free to attend a quick interview Monday night (August 27).
